B. C. Allan, who played several Plunket Shield matches for Otago about 10 seasons ago, died this week. He played for North Otago when the subassociation was fielding a strong team captained by the present New Zealand leader J. R. Reid. He was also well-known as a Rugby referee in country districts.

A member and prominent official of the University club, B. R. Dunstan, was one of the more competent umpires at last week’s national lawn tennis championships at Wilding Park.
