First Public Engagements

(N .Z .P .A.-Reuter—Copyright) ST. JOHN (Antigua), Jan. 18. Princess Margaret and the Earl of Snowdon had their first public engagements in St. John yesterday since their arrival 13 days ago for a private holiday. In the morning, the Princess distributed prizes to first-year nurses who had passed St. John Ambulance examinations.

Lord Snowdon. meanwhile, visited the Antigua broadcasting station a mile away. Lord Snowdon inspected the three-roomed studio and tried the radio control panel while a visiting woman journalist was being interviewed. He was presented with tape recordings of 25 calypsos before leaving to rejoin Princess Margaret. The Princess and Lord Snowdon then visited the children’s ward at Holberton Hospital.
