Fellowships For Graduates
University graduates may apply for fellowships pro-
vided by the South-East As a Treaty Organisation to do research in South-east Aria and the South-west Pacific.
As part of its programme of cultural relations S.E.A.T.O. is again offering a number of fellowships. The object is to encourage research into social, economic, political, cultural, scientific, and educational problems that may give insight into the nresewt need and future development of Asia and the Pacific.
The fellowships are intended for university graduates ot distinction, and are awarded on the basis of the candidate's special qualifications for carrying through a major project of research, preferably leading to publication.
Applications for courses of study to improve the qualifications of the applicant or to earn a degree are not desired.
Fellowships are normally made available for periods of from four to 10 months. A monthly allowance equivalent to £143 and economy-class air fares are paid.
Applications in New Zealand will close on March 30. Application forms may be obtained by writing to the Department of External Affairs. Parliament Buildings, Wellington.
