Engine Trouble Holds Up Ship

Engine trouble, believed to be of a minor nature, delayed the berthing at Lyttelton of the Federal Steam Navigation Company’s cargo liner, Gloucester, yesterday, following her arrival from the West Indies.

According to the master (Captain D. E. Moran) the engine stopped while the vessel was manoeuvring opposite the en'rance to the inner harbour. She was ultimately berthed under her own power.

Following a closer examination of the engine to ascertain the cause of the stoppage tire vessel will sail for Timaru today.
