FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT
Situation.—A ridge of high pressure covers the North Island, while a slow moving frontal zone lies over Southland. Forecast:Nelson, Marlborough, Buller and Westland.— Northerly winds, mainly moderate, but strong about the Sounds; a few isolated showers in South Westland, otherwise partly cloudy; mild to warm temperatures. Outlook: rain in Westland, elsewhere cloudy.
Canterbury.—Moderate to fresh north-easterlies about the coast and light variable winds inland; partly cloudy and warm. Outlook: cloudy.
