BURNSIDE
(NJ). Press Association; DUNEDIN, January 1«. After last week's disappointing sale, the fat eattle entry -i Bumside today was of very modest proportion, this week’s total of 198 showing a decrease of 134 head. In the earlier races values for most classes were better by as much as £3 to £4 per head, but this demand did not last with the result that in the last two races values eased to be little better than late rates.
Smaller yardings and higher values were maintained in the sheep sections. There were 1728 adult sheep penned compared with 4286 at the previous sale. Hoggets made up the bulk of the wether entry, the remainder comprising mainly old hill wethers. Hoggets improved in some cases as much as 4s to ss. Ewes were not in oversupply and prices were generally 3s a head higher. 1 The total of fat lambs dropped from 811 to 255, with strong demand the rate improved by 8s with odd pens even higher.
