Floutulla And Cracksman (N.Z, Press Association) HAMILTON', January 16. The Waikato horses Cracksman and Floutulla, winners df the Great Northern Derby and Auckland Cup respectively, have been invited to contest the “Daily Telegraph” Cup, of £lO.OOO. one mile and a half, at Randwick on April 14.

The sponsors of the event will pay travelling expenses and there is no nomination or acceptance fee payable. Cracksman resumed work only today and his owner, Mr J. Fouhy, said that he was undecided w’hether Cracksman would be sent to Sydney. Floutulla has engagements at the Trentham fixture, which opens on Saturday.

Astronaut Back In Work f.V.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) MELBOURNE. January 16. The Sydney sprinter, Astronaut is back in work at Caulfield, preparing for the rich autumn sprints in Melbourne.

His main missions will be the £4OOO Oakleigh Plate at Caulfield on February 24 and the £5OOO Newmarket Handicap on March 10.

Astronaut is being trained by F. J. McKay until his Sydney trainer, J. Cormick, arrives. •

The New Zealand-bred colt Blue Era will open his autumn campaign in the Argyle Handicap at Moonee Valley on Saturday.

The trainer. G. Murphy, said today that the jockey, S. Mitchell, would ride Blue Era in the race. Blue Era has been set for the £3500 V.R.C. St. Leger Stakes on March 10 and the £BlOO Queen Elizabeth Stakes on March 17 at Flemington. If he does well, he will go to Sydney for the £10,600 Invitation Cup at Randwick on April 14.
