GORE ARSON CASE
Man Remanded For Report (N.Z. Press Association! INVERCARGILL, Jan. 15. A young Gore man who told the police he “liked to hear the noise of the siren and see the fire brigade in action' pleaded guilty in the Invercargill Magistrate’s Court this morning to nine charges, including one of arson which caused damage estimated at nearly £5OOO. Defendant, whose name was suppressed, was remanded for a month for sentence, pending psychiatric observation and report. The arson charge concerned the premises of Farry’s Ltd., in Irk street, Gore, where damage estimated at £4799 was done by fire on October 27 last year. Accused also pleaded guilty to five charges of wilfully setting fire to hedges, two charges of theft of women’s underwear and one of being unlawfully in a building without intent.
