Missionaries Arrested

(N Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) PARIS. January 15. Sixteen members of a Dutch missionary group had been arrested in Cezchoslovakia and sentenced to prison terms ranging from one to 14 years, the group’s news service said yesterday. The service said several other missionaries of the Society of the Divine Word were under arrest but had not yet been tried. The missionaries were accused "of having direct connections with the Pope, of acting as spies for the Vatican, or getting directives regarding espionage activities from the Superior-General of the Divine Word missionaries in Rome, of sabotage, of hoarding money, and of sending an enormous sum of money outside the country.”
