Mr Robin O’Conner, of Wellington, caught a 1081 b yellowtail in the Bay of Islands on an 801 b line today. This is believed to be a world record, the fish being 181 b heavier than a yellowtail caught off Mexico in 1948. Mr O’Conner took over an hour to get his fish into the boat
