“No Use In War” (N.Z.PA.-Reuter—Copyright) KUALA LUMPHUR, Jan. 11. The Prime Minister (Tunku Abdul Rahman) told Parliament today that in the event of a Dutch-Indonesian war over West New Guinea Malaya would not allow the Commonwealth military bases in the country to be utilised. Malaya’s stand, he said, would be one of neutralism It would not be involved in any way. The Prime Minister’s remarks came after three days of sittings of Malaya's House of Representatives, during which Opposition members have pressed for a policy statement on the issue. The West New Guinea dispute has created widespread interest in Malaya, which enjoys friendly relation* with Indonesia. The Tunku told members he had tried to “sell my idea” of peaceful negotiation to the Netherlands and Indonesia “but it did not work. Both countries probably intended to settle the matter themselves without welcoming the service from anyone outside,” he said.
