WINGATUI TEAM FOR TRENTHAM

No Travel This Week

The Wingatui trainer, D G. O'Neill, had hoped to have Desert Chief, Astra, and Andalusia settled in at Trentham this week to prepare for engagements at the Wellington Cup meeting, but those plans have been' upset. Because of the heavy demand for space for motor vehicles, inter-island steamers will not carry horses until Tuesday and Wednesday of next week. Desert Chief is being prepared for the Wellington Cup next week. At his latest start he won the Invercargill Gold Cup. Ark Royal won the Invercargill - Wellington Cups double for Desert Chief’s owner. Mr G. J. Barton, in 1959.
