JUDGE OF ART COMPETITION

Arrival In Citv Next Month Sir Daryl Lindsay, of Melbourne, will arrive in New Zealand on February 20 to judge the 1962 Hay’s art competition in Christchurch. ■ Entries for the competition will close on January 31. It will have a sculpture and craft section for the first time this year. Sir Daryl Lindsay was the director of the National Gallery of Victoria from 1942 to 1956. He is chairman of the National Trust of Australia, and since 1953 has been a member of the Commonwealth Art Advisory Board. He will be accompanied by Lady Lindsay, who is president of the Arts and Crafts Society in Melbourne. Mr H. G. Hay, a director of the company, said yesterday that entries indicated the competition would match last year’s. This had an entry of 400 paintings.
