Nude Bathers In Devon
(N.Z.P.A .-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, Jan. 9.
Large numbers of nude bathers on south Devon beaches during the summer had resulted in roads to the coast being jammed by cars and coaches filled with curious visitors, the Kingsbridge Rural District Council was told today. * The council, alarmed at the increase in the number of nude bathers, has asked the Devon County Council to adopt by-laws enabling the police to prosecute nudists who use the oublic beaches. The council’s clerk (Mr J. H. Savidge) said that a stretch of beach between Kingsbridge and Dartmouth was described as a “mecca” for nudists.
