GALLOWAY COWS PURCHASED

Five To Arrive In Nelson Today (From Our Own Reporter) NELSON, Jan. 10. Five pedigree Galloway cows, purchased from two Scottish studs during a recent visit by Mr L. B. Kain, of Wakapuaka, Nelson, are due to arrive at Port Nelson tomorrow, aboard the coastal vessel, Konanda. Mr Kain’s selection of stock was assisted by Mr D. Murry, a Scots stud breeder, who judged the Ayrshire section of the Nelson Agricultural and Pastoral show two years ago. Three of the cows came from the stud of W. Hyslop and Sons. Knockysoid, Ayrshire, and were served in August. The other two are from the H. D. Fisher and Sons’ stud. Barnsallie, Newton Stewart. Delivery and transportation of the stock was arranged by Dalgety and New Zealand Loan. Ltd. A pedigree border collie bitch, also purchased by Mr Kain while in the United Kingdom, has since produced la litter of one male and three female pups.
