CALL TO HINDS PARISH

Rev. H. G. Bartlett, Of Leeston The Rev. H. G. Bartlett, Presbyterian minister at Leeston for the last eight years, has accepted a call to the Hinds parish, irt the Ashburton Presbytery, and will be inducted at Hinds on February 8. Born in Westport, where he attended the West port Technical College, Mr Bartlett was an electrician for the Municipal Electricity Department in Christchurch for 20 years before he trained for the ministry. He studied at Canterbury University College, taking a bachelor of arts degree, and later at Knox Theological College, Dunedin. After he finished training Mr Bartlett spent three years and a half at Tuatapere. Southland, before going to Leeston. Mr Bartlett is particularly interested in the ecumenical movement. While he had been at Leeston he had had close relationships with the Methodist and Anglican Churches, he said yesterday. The Rev. J. W. Olliver. minister at Southbridge, will be in charge of the Leeston parish until another minister is appointed.
