MEMORABLE MOMENT FOR JOHN.—One of the most popular officials at Lancaster Park during the Canterbury-Otago Plunket Shield match was a primary schoolboy, John O’Gorman, who has been busy looking after the dressing room keys, whitening pads and boots, and generally making himself useful. The Otago captain, B. Sutcliffe, was so impressed by John's enthusiasm and knowledge of cricket that he presented him yesterday with a bat signed by the Otago team. Here Sutcliffe is giving the bat to the boy.
