NEXT GRAND PRIX

Seven Possible Courses fN-Z. Preet Association! AUCKLAND, Jan. 9. Seven areas around Auckland are being considered as sites for the next New Zealand Grand Prix, Ardmore aerodrome, where the race has been held for the last nine years, is no longer available. Three international drivers —Moes, Brabham and Mc-Laren-accompanied Mr W. H. Knox, president of the Grand Prix organisation, and his executive, on a tour of the sites yesterday and gave their opinions about each one. The favoured site is around the Franklin Racing Club’s track at Pukekohe. Negotiations had been taking place between the club and the Grand Prix organisation for some time but no agreement had yet been reached, said Mr Knox tonight. 'Tve been annoyed by people who have been announcing that we are going to Pukekohe,” he said. “I don’t know myself yet. and when I do my board of control will let the public know. ‘‘The next Grand Prix could be on an undeveloped site near the Manukau harbour—in fact, it could be any of seven different places. They are all Interesting.”
