Obituary MR J. McDowell
(N.Z. Press Association) ROTORUA, Jan. 8. A former prominent Rotorua community leader and business man, Mr John McDowell, died in Rotorua this morning, aged 84. Born in Waltham. Christchurch, Mr McDowell came to Rotorua in 1911. He was a past president and life member of the Rotorua Club, past president of the Rotorua Bowling and Rotary clubs and the Rotorua Highland Pipe Band and a former chief of the Rotorua Caledonian Society.
