New Haydn Concerto

Haydn's manuscript for his Concerto for ’Cello and Orchestra in C Major was recently discovered by Oldrich Pulkert, historian of the musical department of the Prague National Museum. Until now, this work of the great Austrian master was unknown and reference to it was only made in the composer’s personal catalogue of manuscripts. The concerto, which Dr. Georg Feder, Director of the Joseph Haydn Institute in Cologne, described as the best work of Haydn’s earlier creative period, will be published in Prague next year.
