Swimming Hayes Breaks Own World Record

(N.ZJ’.A.-Reuter—Copyright) SYDNEY, January 5. N. Hayes broke his own world record for the 220 yard butterfly in the Australia v. Japan swimming carnival at the North Sydney pool last night. Hayes's time 2min 14.8 sec, shaved 2.ssec off the record he established a year ago. The Japanese won four of the six events and finished with a total of 33 points against Australia's 23.
