HOLIDAY PATROLS BY A.A.C.

Variety of Roadside Repairs

The 11 patrol officers of the Automobile Association (Canterbury) attended a variety of breakdowns during the Christmas and New Year holidays.

“Almost every conceivable minor roadside repair was carried out." said the general secretary (Mr E. S. Palliser) yesterday. Among faults recorded by officers were broken fan belts, faulty electrical wiring, petrol blocks, blown gaskets and cracked blocks. A car with a seized engine was towed 100 miles from Lewis pass to Christchurch by association patrol cars.

Covering hundreds of miles in Canterbury and the West Coast, the officers were near race meetings, beach resorts, and parts of the highways where breakdowns are frequent.
