Mr F. C. Rainbow To Go To Hamilton

Mr F. C. Rainbow, supervisor of the engineer’s office at the Christchurch Post Office, has been appointed senior supervisor of the engineer's office at Hamilton. He will leave Christchurch on January 22 exactly 41 years after he began work in the Christchurch Post Office as a message boy. Mr Rainbow has served in Christchurch for the whole of his career except for three months at Waikari, and intends to return here when he retires in 14 months. He is well known in ths public library movement.

having been president of the Christchurch Suburban Libraries' Association for about five years and the association’s delegate to the New Zealand Library Association's conference for a similar period. He has been secretary of the Linwood Public Library tor eight years. He is also a vestryman of St. Chad’s Anglican Church, Buckleys road.
