NEW RAROTONGAN DICTIONARY

London Lecturer’s Project

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Jan. 4.

Dr. J. E. Buse, a lecturer in linguistics at London University, arrived in Auckland today in the Moana Roa after nine months of study in the Cook Islands for a new Rarotongan-English dictionary. Dr. Buse, who is accompanied by his wife, will return to England to continue the work.

He worked on the dictionary in London for 18 months with the assistance of a Rarotongan. It will be a further 12 months before preparations for publishing the dictionary are complete.
