NEW RAROTONGAN DICTIONARY
London Lecturer’s Project

Dr. J. E. Buse, a lecturer in linguistics at London University, arrived in Auckland today in the Moana Roa after nine months of study in the Cook Islands for a new Rarotongan-English dictionary. Dr. Buse, who is accompanied by his wife, will return to England to continue the work.
He worked on the dictionary in London for 18 months with the assistance of a Rarotongan. It will be a further 12 months before preparations for publishing the dictionary are complete.
Car Sought— The police are anxious to know the whereabouts of a 1940 model two-seater Fiat 500 car, paint, ed white. The registration number is 701-046. Any persons seeing this vehicle are asked to notify the Christchurch City Police Station.
