TOUR BY TRAIN
Auckland Partv In South Island
Twenty-one Auckland train enthusiasts will arrive at the Christchurch Railway Station at 2.30 a.m. today.
They are members of the Auckland Railway Enthusiasts’ Society, on a nine-day tour of Canterbury and Otago. Since December 28 the party has travelled between Christchurch and Dunedin with deviations on branch lines, and frequent stops for photographing and sightseeing.
Transport has been twobunk cars and a diner-kit-chen car attached to normal goods and passenger trains. On a special train trip from Timaru to Fairlie, the 37seater car was added.
I The party will leave Christ- ' chureh at 7.40 a.m. today for a trip to Southbridge, Lin- ‘ coin, and Little River. ; A special train, with a 37seater car added, will bring the party back to Christi church, arriving at 3 p.m. I There the tour will end.
