Cranes Erected At Steelworks

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Jan. 3. Two gantry cranes, each weighing more than 100 tons, were hoia'.ed into position today high above the steel melting shop being built at Otahuhu for Pacific Steel, Ltd.

With a capacity of 65 tons each, die cranes have easily the strongest lift of any of their type in New Zealand. One will carry the ladles of molten steel from the charging bay to the reheating furnace, and the other will take the ladles to the pouring moulds in the floor of the shop.
