SWIMMING

Some members of the Melbourne water polo team were at a dised vantage when they took their places In the field for the 110 yards freestyle event after their game at the Centennial Pool this week. There was scarcely lOmki between the two events. Even stowing for some tiredness the Australians did not come up to expectations in the swimming events. Their taster men were reputed to be capable ot Msec for the 110 yards, but on the night most could do no better than Msec.
