BEACH MISSION AT WOODEND

Methodist Bible Class Croup A beach mission organised by. senior Methodist Bible Class pupils from the Sumner, North Beach, Edgeware road, Bryndwr, and Shirley churches will be held at Woodend beach for about 10 days from January 2. The mission will cater particularly for children camping at Woodend beach. “Men of God” will be the theme of the mission, and illustrations will be drawn from the Old and New Testaments. There will be worship sessions and study groups, and expression work will be done in the sand. The 100 or more children expected to attend the sessions will be taught songs, hymns, and chorus singing with a piano accordion accompaniment. Three sessions will be held each day. and will include games each afternoon. There will be a general session in the evening for adults, and this will include square dancing on the camp green and films in tiie mission marquee. “Combined Methodist Bible Class groups have held the mission at Woodend beach regularly since 1951, and it has proved popular both with the children and their parents,” said the secretary of the mission (Mr R. Rigby). The Rev. C. R. Marshall, of the Lincoln road Methodist Church, will be the camp padre.
