FLIGHT TO MIRNY
Second Soviet Plane The Russian Ilyushin 18 aircraft was scheduled to leave McMurdo Sound tor the Soviet base at Mirny at 530 Pm. yesterdav according to United States Antarctic head quarters in Christchurch It was also reported yesterday that the Antonov 10 plane that left McMurdo Sound at 52 p.m, on Christmas Day reached Mirny about 10 pm the same day It was expected that the Ilyushin 18 would also ta'-e about five hours to fly to Mirny IBoth planes passed through Christchurch on the way to" the Antarctic. They left Christchurch airport 12 minutes aoart just before 5 a.m. on Sunday.
