Solus was just behind Brown Watch on the home turn, „nd made a bid for the lead going to the furlong. He finished clear of the win favourite. Gay Fox. which had a good position early but drifted going to the half mile. Melodic was only a fair fifth a length clear of Matlock, which was squeezed back to the tail of the field on the inside near the half-mile.
