Valueless Cheques Issued (N.Z. Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH. Dec 17. How Henry Edward Farquhar, aged 18, of Patea. drove about Taranaki, sleeping in a car and leaving a trail of valueless cheques between Wanganui and New Plymouth was told to Mr A. W. Yortt, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court at New Plymouth.

Formerly employed as a baker’s assistant in Patea. Farquhar admitted eight charges of obtaining goods and money to the total value of £642 by false pretences He was convicted and sentenced to borstal training on each charge.
