OUTRIGHT WINS AT DUNEDIN
P. C. Semple 106 Not Out (N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN, Dec. 17. Sweeping outright victories in all four matches were features of Dunedin senior cricket on Saturday, when the sixth series in the competition finished in brilliantly fine weather. Other features were the century scored by P. C. Semple, a new member of the Otago Plunket Shield team, for Grange against Carisbrook, and the five wickets for 41 runs taken by another new shield player, F. Anderson, against University. As a result of the series, Grange has edged Albion out of top place by a fraction of a point. Scores:—Grange 367 (P. C. Semple 106) and one for 7 beat Carisbrook 91 and 182 (A. M Moir five for 89), by nine Albion 196 (R. Elmes 51. E W. Dempster, five for 31) and one for 45 beat University 134 and 107 (R. G. Anderson five for 41) by nine wickets. Dunedin 274 for five declared beat North East Valley 91 and 160 (B. Sutcliffe 53) by an innings and 23 runs. Kaikorai 212 and four for 51 beat Old Boys 112 and 148 by six wickets. Unofficial points are:—Grange 72.90,1 Albion 72.78, Kaikorai 62.44, Old Boys 53.76, Carisbrook 44.62, Dunedin 41.89, University 35.71, North East Valley 31.03.
