Radios For Ambulances

The St. John Ambulance Association’s fleet of six ambulances in Christchurch would be installed with twofrequency radio telephones, said the secretary (Mr G. A. Brown) yesterday. The new system will mean that a wider area can be covered and bo-th the ambulances and headquarters will be ablfe to contact the Christchurch Fire Brigade. The new system is expected to be in operation next July. Mr Brown said there was a possibility that the ambulances would be linked with the main North Canterbury hospitals either by the same system or by land line.
