Sugar Quota Deadlock
(N •ZJ’.A.-Rcuter—Copyright) GENEVA, December 13. The United Nations sugar conference has failed to reach agreement on quotas for 1962 and 1963. A communique issued after yesterday’s session said that while it was not possible to reach agreement on these quotas “the conference Should consider and is now considering how inter* national co-operation in sugar matters can best be continued.’’ The conference has been deadlocked over Cuba’s insistence on an increase of her quota from about 5,400,000 tons to 7,275,000 tons.
