HAMILTON FIRE
Big Damage To Shops (NJt Press Association) HAMILTON, Dec. 13. Several thousands of pounds of damage was caused by a fire which broke out in one of the oldest blocks of wooden shops in Victoria street South, Hamilton, soon after 10 p.m. yesterday. With three engines and 24 men smartly on the job the Hamilton Fire Brigade made a very good save as the building was tinder dry. Most damage was to Messrs Hobart Berkel Supplies and a cafe on the ground floor. The dental surgery of Mr Alan Campbell was damaged by smoke and water, also goods in Laing's grocery shop.
