SWIMMING Centre Calls For Report On Finances

Against a background of dwindling finances and mounting costs, the Canterbury Swimming Centre discussed its need for a more assured income at its first quarterly meeting last even ing. After many expressions of concern about the centre’s position, the meeting formed a sub-committee to bring down a report on the financial affairs of the centre and to make recommendations. The members of the subcommittee appointed were Messrs C. E MacDonald (convener). S Williams. D |W. Cain, L. S Julian, C F Dann, and D. M. Stuart Mr Cain said the centre’s finances were in a bad there was nothing to come and go on. For the last three years the centre had been living from hand to mouth, agreed Mr E C. He started with the gun and was timed by three watches.
