LINER’S NEW CUTLERY
Stainless Steel In Oriana (By ZALI.4 THOMAS} LONDON. December 6. The first stainless steel cutlery ever to be used on a British liner has been so successful on board the Oriana. for which it was specially designed, that it is now on general sale in Britain. Made by Mappin’s—the firm known as the "master cutlers of the sea” and designed by a famous silversmithdesigner, Robert Welch—the cutlery has sleek, modern lines, the curving backs being particularly comfortable to hold. The knives have short rounded blades while the forks have three short prongs. In appearance it will appeal to young married people with modern tastes in furnishing and entertaining. Since the modern housewife wants her tableware to be easy to care for, it has been specially made, not only for easy washing—the short prongs of the forks and the easy lines see to that—but it can also be fiung into a dishwasher with no fears at all As for keeping that lovely satin sheen—a soft dryingcloth after it is washed will take care of that.
