TRANSPORT STRIKE
Attempt Fails In Suva (N.ZJ 9 .A.-Neuter —Copyright) SUVA, Dec. 11. Attempts were made today to call out bus drivers and taxi drivers in sympathy with workers who are on strike at a cigarette factory in Suva. Late today the Governor put into operation the Public Safety Regulations which give the Government wide powers to maintain law and order. The attempt to paralyse Suva transport has failed, though some drivers reported they had been threatened by intimidators Tonight Suva is calm.
