W. J. Godfrey’s Plans
(NJ!. Press Association) AUCKLAND. Dec. 12. W. J. Godfrey, the SB-year-old golfer, has postponed plans to turn professional for “at least-a year” he said in Auckland today on his return from Australia. Godfrey went to Australia last month ith the New Zealand amateur team with fairly definite intentions of switching to professional ranks on his return. But after discussion with many of Australia’s leading professionals he has decided to accept their advice to seek more experience as an amateur. Waitikiri Club’s Officers The officers of the Waitikiri Golf Club for the 1962 season are Patron. Mr R, A. McKenzie, president, Mr J. Mercer; vicepresidents, Messrs J. Galvin. A D. McFadden and A. J Vivian; club captain, Mr E. R Casbolt: vice-captain, Mr E G. Batstone; committee. Messrs M Atkinson, L. Chappell. L. K Cleveland. G. H. Connor. I Dobson, P. H. Holdsworth. C. W Johnson and J. Norrie. The Waitikiri Ladies’ Golf Club’s officers for the 1962 season are:— Captain, Mrs W. G. Walker; vice-captain. Mrs J. S. Royds; secretary, Mrs W. G. Laine; committee. Miss L. Bradley. Mrs O. Cheyne, Miss R. Horrell, Mrs C H. Kirk. Mrs L. Petrie. Mrs Ft. M. Smith and Mrs C. Thompson.
