ORDER TO SHOOT
Air Space Violation (N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) NEW DELHI, Dec. 12. The Indian Prime Minister (Mr Nehru) told Parliament yesterday that Indian forces had been given orders to resist Chinese incursions and shoot down aircraft violating Indian air space. The Government. meanwhile. disclosed that it had told China to stop making ’’faked charges” of border violations by the Indian Army and Air Force. An Indian Note, delivered to Peking on Saturday, accused the Chinese of pressing allegations against India to justify Chinese “aggression” on China’s northern border. The Note—eighth in a series of protests and counterprotests between toe two governments—rejects Chinese charges of air and land violations by Indian armed forces in the disputed Himalayan region where, it said. Chlnese have occupied 12,000 square miles of Indian territory. The Note recalled that the border was peaceful ard tranquil “until the Chinese Government embarked on a course of aggression,’! and accused China of “entirely unjustified interference” in India’s sovereign affairs.
