No Referendum On Fluoridation
(N.Z. Press Association) WHANGAREI, Dec. 6. The Whangarei Borough Council last night defeated by 8 votes to 5 a motion to hold a referendum on fluoridation. It thereby reaffirmed its decision of September 6 made on a bare majority with some councillors ab-sent—-to fluoridate the town water supply. The decision came after two years and a half of discussion and study of fluoridation, during which a considerable local controversy has been waged.
