CAR PARTS STOLEN
Four Youths Convicted
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. December 7. Four youths described by the police prosecutor. Sergeant W. R. Fleming, as “motoring enthusiasts.” could not afford their own car parts and stole £2OO worth of parts from other cars over a period of two months, Mr J. W. Kealy, S.M., was told at Auckland today. Two of them. Michael Dean Gibbs, aged 17, a metal worker, and Liam David Baker, aged 18, apprentice fitter, pleaded guilty to four joint charges of theft. Gibbs pleaded guilty to a further charge of theft and one of conversion. The other two youths will appear in the Children’s Court In most cases they stole from parked cars and trucks in motor dealers' yards, said Mr Fleming On one occasion the youths followed a car and when the owner parked and left it they sole parts valued at £l4. All the parts had been recovered, he said. Mr Kealy convicted accused and remanded them in custody for one week.
