Situation.—A depression is crossing New Zealand. Forecast:— West Coast.—Moderate south-east winds; scattered light rain in the north, clearing gradually, otherwise partly cloudy and cool. Outlook: partly cloudy. Marlborough and Nelson.—Strong southerlies and showers in coastal Marlborough, elsewhere moderate south-easterlies and partly cloudy weather; scattered light rain at first; temperatures cool. Outlook: partly cloudy. Canterbury.—Strong southerlies, decreasing gradually; cloudy with scattered light rain, mostly in the north; fair periods developing inland and in the south; temperatures cold. Outlook: partly cloudy.
