PRESENTATION OF AWARDS
Christchurch Girls’ Life Brigade "The Girls' Life Brigade and ttie Boys' Brigade are two of the finest movements in the Church as they reach out to, and work for, the community,'' said the Moderator of the Presbyterian Church, the Rt. Rev. S. C. Francis, at the annual display and presentation of awards of the 20h Christchurch Company of the Girls' Life Brigade in St. Paul’s Church Hall on Saturday. Members of the company gave a display of some of the work they had done during the year. The programme included drill, figure marching, country dancing, flag drill, games, a floral art demonstration and individual items. The captain of the company (Mrs K J. M. Gray) congratulated the girls on the fine standard of work they had maintained throughout the year, wrien she presented her report. Tne awards were presented to the girl* by the inspecting officer. Miss B. J. Hardie, who is secretary of the Y.W.C.A. in Christchurch. The new company colours were dedicated by Mr Francis.
