Safe Robbery Arrests

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Nov. 27. Eleven men and a woman have been arrested during the last few weeks and charged with some of the recent safe robberies in Auckland. Chief Superintendent F, J. Brady, officer in charge of the Auckland Police District, said today the outbreak of safe robberies amounted to ‘‘an epidemic.” “Detectives have arrested 12 people, including two wellknown Australian criminals who have been extradited, in the last couple of weeks.” said Mr Brady. During the week-end a safe containing about £3OO was stolen from the Grosvenor hotel in Hobson street. This brought to about £15.500 the total amount of money taken from safes in the Auckland province in the last two months.
