New Works By Khachaturyan
After concentrating on teaching for several years the well-known Armenian composer,:. Aram . Khacheturyan has produced two new works. The first of an anthem, ’’Baited about the Homeland” (tor boss and orchestra), to lyrics by the Armenian poet, Ashot Garnakeryan. The second is a piano sonata written tn classical threemovement form. Khachaturyan’s next work will be a rhapsody for “cello and orchestra. Since finishing the ballet "Spartacus” in 1959, the 58-year-old Khachaturyan has produced only a sonatina for piano which has not met with a very enthusiastic reception from the public.
