TIMARU SHOW CASUALTIES
Ambulance Busy On People’s Day
(From Our Own Reporter) TIMARU, Nov. 26. St. John Ambulance personnel in attendance at the Timaru Agricultural and Pastoral Association's show on Saturday treated nine cases between 10 ajn. and 11 a m., and by the end of the day the total casualties had reached 21, including one fatal accident. Injuries generally involved cuts, minor abrasions, blistered heels, headaches, and fainting. Mrs Jocelyn Robinson, aged 23, of 12 Warwick street, Oamaru, suffered injuries to her pelvis and general bruising when the horse she was riding in a ring event nosed over a wire jump, and "cartwheeled" on to the rider. She was taken to the Timaru public hospital by ambulance, and her condition this evening was reported to be satisfactory.
