ODD BATTING DISPLAY

The M.C.C. gave the oddest batting display of the tour in reaching 222 for six declared in reply to Rajasthan’s first innings total of 268 on the second day of their three-day match yesterday. For a long time M.C.C. seemed to find hidden terrors in the matting pitch and slowed to score five for 114. in 160 minutes. Then, in a hectic 55 minutes K. F. Barrington. 91, and B. R. Knight, 38 not out. added 108 before E. R. Dexter declared 46 behind. At the close Rajasthan had scored one for 27 in the second innings. Scores: M.C.C. First Innings G.
