There was no question of the Government givnig in to pressure from any source on the Nelson cotton null agreement, the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) said today. He was commenting on a letter to him from Mr C. W. Martin, National candidate for Nelson in 1957 and 1960. The text of the letter was published this morning. “I have announced that the Government is to meet the directors ot the company next week concerning differences of opinion about certain implications of the agreement,” Mr Holyoake said. “In the circumstances, there is no other comment I can properly make at the moment.” Mr Holyoake said he had received Mr Martin’s letter on Monday and had answered it on Tuesday. In his reply Mr Holyoake extended hjs thanks to Mr Martin for ‘‘informing me of public opinion in the Nelson district.” “It is most helpful to have your comments on the matter, which is being carefully examined at the present time,” he said. “We have already had extensive discussions on the subject in the Cabinet and in the caucus, and we are giving careful thought to all aspects of the problem. The points you have made will be borne in mind during our deliberations. “I warmly appreciate your action in ensuring that your views and those of the people in the Nelson district are known to the Government”
