FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation:—An intense anti-cyclone with its main centre to the south-east of Gisborne covers New Zealand. Forecast.— Nelson, Buller and Westland.—Light to moderate variable winds; mainly overcast at first with some occasional light drizzle likely, but becoming partly cloudy during the day; temperatures moderate. Outlook: similar conditions. Marlborough and Canterbury.—Fresh to strong north-westerlies about Cook Strait, moderate to fresh north-easterlies on the Kaikoura and Canterbury ; coasts, elsewhere light to moderate variable winds; a few scattered cloudy areas at first; otherwise fine, ! with mild day temperatures. Outlook: mainly fine.
